Issue Position

While Utah has not experienced the worst of the Great Recession, we have too many of our workers unemployed and too many businesses struggling to get by. We have many public projects to rebuild or expand infrastructure and improve transportation--all of which will help businesses and reduce unemployment. To the extent that the legislature can foster jobs and business, we must make every effort to put the unemployed back to work and give a kick-start to our state economy. In so doing, we will see increased revenues for the budget through economic growth.
